The studio i a natural continuation of “the Wrocław school of graphic arts”, going back directly to its post-war founder and Rector, prof. Stanisław Dawski (a spiritual and artistic mentor of Józef Gielniak) and the then assistant teacher (later Head of Printmaking Department), prof. Halina Pawlikowska.
Her assistant teachers were: the current Rector of the Academy of Fine Art and Design in Wrocław, prof. Jacek Szewczyk, and Head of the Artistic Graphics Department, prof. Przemysław Tyszkiewicz.
Curriculum:
The modern nature of the studio develops the original curriculum, while referring to the most recent tendencies in art. The main emphasis is placed upon educating a fully aware, independent artist, armed with excellent state0of-the-art printmakin equipment.
The curriculum of the studio encompasses comple education in oriinal graphic art while utilizin such pure graphic techniques as: copperplate, etchin, aquatint, woodcut or linocut. Along with perfection in masterin printmaking techniques, the studio places great emphasis on the development of artistic awareness, ability to define individual artistic epression on a better and better level. The speciality of the studio are monumental printmakin realizations in traditional techniques.
The studio has been attended by a great number of out institution’s faculty members as well as prize-winners of many international printmakin competitions.
